Work description Sideboard from @Lolkjes.dollhouse
The measurements for this dresser are for a 1:12 dollhouse. I made this with Balsa wood of 3 mm thick. The 4 front pieces are mounted with Balsa wood of 1 mm thick. (also possible with 2 mm thickness.)
Shopping list:
1 x balsa wood set 2 (2 mm thick 10 x 20 cm per plank. set 2 consists of 2 planks)
1 x balsa wood set 4 - basic set (1mm, 2mm & 3mm thick 10x 20 cm per plank. Set 4 consists of 3 planks of 3 different thicknesses.)
mat, knife and ruler (metal) & wood glue. Possibly paint of your choice and brushes.
Dimensions
Sides:
Cut out 2 times 3x4.5 cm x 2mm
Front and back:
Cut out 2 times 4.5x19 cm x 2mm
Top & bottom:
Cut out 2 times 3x19cm x 2mm
Four front pieces:
4 times 4.4 x 4.4 cm x 1 mm
Step 1:
Measure and mark all of the above pieces on the balsa wood you are using.
Cut this out (I use a ruler next to it to make a clean cut, as the wood is very soft and quickly deviates from where you want to cut).
Step 2:
First place the bottom of the sideboard on the table and glue the front side of the sideboard on it.
Then the back and top. I stick the sides on last.
I use wood glue for this.
Let the whole thing dry for 20 minutes before sticking the 4 front pieces on.
Step 3:
Now stick the 4 front pieces onto the sideboard one by one.
Make sure that you do not stick them tightly together, but that you create some depth by keeping some distance between them.
Good luck!
Greetings Lolkje.
